Crab Cakes
I can say from personal experience, the crab cakes are incredible! Truly a unique appetizer for Lee’s Summit! I’ve even had them as a meal if I’m being honest!
I am originally from Texas, and these remind me of the amazing Cajun restaurants I took for granted, which are so hard to find here in KC and Lee’s Summit.

Smoked Burgers
These handheld monstrosities are a solid choice and have somehow remained immune to shrinkflation! They are a whole meal in a bun, packed with flavor and amazing side options you can’t get just anywhere.

We used to go to Jazzy B’s often after softball games at their old Colburn location and now that they moved to right outside DTLS, by Summit Waves, the food is just as good!

The Patio
The large outdoor patio is a great feature with extra space to spread out and a great spot to unwind with friends.
Jazzy B’s is owned by Brandon Simpson and his family. His story is a big part of what makes them a Lee’s Summit Legend.
Brandon has always been drawn to food and entrepreneurship.
While attending Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU), he studied restaurant and food management and even started a specialty cheesecake business called “Cheese of Desire.”
A lot of people remember Brandon as an incredible athlete. He played on the NWMSU Division II football team, winning back-to-back national championships in 1998 and 1999, and later played in the Arena Football League for two years.
After returning to Kansas City, he worked in restaurant management before launching Jazzy B’s, which started as a food truck concept and grew into a loyal local following.
In 2016, he opened Jazzy B’s Diner in Lee’s Summit, and in January 2023, Brandon and his family opened the current location at 320 SW Blue Parkway, including a full service bar and enough space to officially be an event venue.
Brandon is also active in the KC community, including being a co-founder of the Kansas City Food Truck Association (KCFTA) and supporting education and initiatives tied to the local food scene.
This business is run by good people who truly take pride in their work and it shows!
